One of the advantages of large format film is its unparalleled ability for enlargement . 8x10 and 4x5 film can be scanned at essentially any resolution, which also allows for nearly unlimited cropping potential. My film is professionally drum scanned to a 2GB 16 bit Tiff file. When printed at 300PPI, the photo is over 57"x71".
