I photographed this scene on my winter 2018 visit to Death Valley National Park. A large winter storm swept through the region during my visit, leaving a lot of moisture in the air. This photo was taken before sunrise on the morning of day 4. I didn't have a specific photo in mind that morning, so I sent out in the darkness before sunrise with a flashlight. Thankfully I found a great subject to make good use of the wonderful atmospherics that morning.
