Dignity & Demise
Dignity & Demise
I photographed this scene on my winter 2018 visit to Zion National Park. I spent much of the morning wandering through the east side of the park, and returned to the main canyon in the afternoon. I have tried to photograph this tree in years past, but never could find a composition. As it turns out, I had never tried during the winter. During the fall, spring, and summer, the colorful trees in the background, and grasses in the foreground distract from the fallen tree. During the winter, the subdued color palette really helped to simplify the photo.
