Last Light on the Dot District
Last Light on the Dot District
I photographed this scene on my winter 2014 visit to Death Valley National Park. This is a location I have returned to on an ongoing basis. What I find most fascinating about this area is how it changes so much from year to year, and even day to day.
The dots on the ground are salt deposits, and I love how they reflect light. On this particular evening, I set my camera up in the afternoon with hopes of photographing this scene both in the evening, and the morning. I took this photo as a small ray of sunset light emerged from behind the mountains on an otherwise moody evening.
