I photographed this scene on a backpacking trip during the spring of 2015. This tree had caught my eye many times while hiking through the canyon on past trips, but it was on this trip that I found a composition I liked.

The challenging part was waiting for a break in the wind so the leaves were not blurred during the long exposure that was necessary. I can only carry 8 sheets of film with me when going on backpacking trips, so every photo counts.
