Perseverance
Perseverance
I photographed this scene on my winter 2014 visit to Death Valley National Park. The title of this photo comes from the story behind it. When I arrived at these dunes, the sky showed a lot of potential, so I setup my camera and waited for sunset.
As sunset grew closer, the clouds built in and it became overcast. I left my camera in place, and returned on the second day, but the same thing happened at sunset. On the third day, with my camera still in the same position, I was treated to a wonderful sunset with high clouds in the composition. The golden light didn't last long. I was only given a few minutes of good light before the sun dropped below the horizon.
