reflected light zine // volume one (2023)
reflected light zine // volume one (2023)
For the past eleven years, I’ve offered annual books, box sets, and most recently, print portfolios. New this year is the addition of a 32 page printed zine. A zine is a soft-bound magazine-style publication less formal than a book, allowing for a greater sense of experimentation. The final printed size of my zine is (wait for it…) 8 x 10 inches. Big surprise, I’m sure.
Included in this zine is my favorite work from 2023, spanning my two winter trips, my spring trip, and my fall trip. Each photo is accompanied by text, along with information about the film, camera, and lens used.
The zine is produced on 100% recycled uncoated paper stock, with the final number of copies based primarily on the number of preorders. After the fulfillment of all preorders, only a limited number of copies will be available, and I don’t know if it will be economical for a second print run since the cost is heavily based on quantity.
I’ve included a few screenshots of the preliminary design from Adobe inDesign to give a feel for the Zine. The final image “What Once Was” is the print included with the premium version. More details about the standard versus premium edition can be found below.
Note: If you’re interested in both my 2023 print portfolio AND the zine,
special bundle pricing is available when ordering my 2023 print portfolio.
Standard and Premium Edition
The zine is available as both the standard edition, and the premium edition. Both copies will be signed, and the difference is that the premium edition includes a print of “What Once Was” on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta at the same specs as the prints offered in my print portfolios. This print will be signed on the back with pencil, and is not otherwise included in my 2023 print portfolio. The paper measures 8” x 10” and the image itself is 7.2” x 9.2”. I personally produce each print on my Epson P7000 using archival pigment ink.
Now Shipping
All preorders have shipped, and new orders will be shipped immediately. Supplies are limited, if you’ve been thinking about ordering, now is a great time before they’re gone.
International Customers
For international customers, my shipping price of ($16) is a couple dollars less than my actual shipping expense to most countries, and for certain countries, I pay between $22 and $35 for the actual shipping price. I realize $16 is a sizable amount in relation to the price of the zine, but please realize I’m taking a loss on the shipping to help make it more reasonable for you. Ordering the zine bundled with a print portfolio helps a bit with the shipping cost, and after the preorders have shipped, I plan to sell a PDF version of the zine for those less interested in a physical copy.
Update:(August 19, 2024) Volume one of my zine is completely sold out. Thank you so much for your fantastic support! Be sure to check out volume two if you haven't already ordered a copy.
